CBIZ MHM Organizes Forensic and Financial Services Under One Umbrella

CBIZ MHM aligned its experts in forensic and litigation support, corporate recovery and valuation services from offices around the country into one national practice: The Forensic and Financial Services Group.

“The Forensic and Financial Services Group is a culmination of several strategic acquisitions and recruiting initiatives that have significantly enhanced our ability to offer a wide variety of forensic, corporate recovery and transactional services across the country,” said CBIZ Financial Services President Dave Sibits. “Our strategy continues to be one based on incubating talent and expertise internally and then supplementing that development with smart acquisitions to allow us to develop services that meet market demand on a national level.”

Forensic and Financial Services Lead Managing Director in Southern California Marie Ebersbacher was instrumental in organizing the initiative and currently chairs the Steering Committee responsible for growing the FFS Group on a national basis, according to the firm.

The Forensic and Financial Services Group includes three service lines: Valuation Advisory, Litigation Support and Forensic Services and Corporate Recovery and Bankruptcy. CBIZ Valuation Group President David Bowerman, based in Atlanta, leads Valuation Advisory. Gregory Cowhey, a Managing Director in the firm’s Philadelphia office, leads Litigation Support and Forensic Services. Corporate Recovery and Bankruptcy is led on a national basis by Jeffrey Sutton a Managing Director in the firm’s New York office.

“Unlike traditional tax or audit work, these services tend to be more transactional in nature, making this diverse array of services a logical grouping under one umbrella,” Ebersbacher said. “There are many natural links between these services and connecting the dots will allow our clients to benefit from a wider range of service offerings and a more expansive network of our specialists.”

ANR’s March 25 issue will have more coverage of this move.
